"If his first album Fuochi Fatui, released on the Japanese underground label Azoth Tapes, along with a single on Bad Panda Records, was the result of years of work focused on building from the ground up a properly hidden gem consisting of deep rhythms and hazy, sampled textures, Norf approached the making of Laika in a different way:
focusing on stripping down the arrangements and planning how the tracks would sound from the start - along with the artwork and the song titles - the idea behind the record was to put together a fast although intense snapshot of the last three years of Norf’s work, combining a minimal approach to sampling together with a focus on creating rapidly-evolving tracks that keep the listeners engaged thanks to a strong sense of push & pull and rapid-fire switch-ups.

Melancholic vocals, monophonic synth lines and stark drums are the essential core elements of Laika."
